Operates a confidential, non-judgmental, 24-hour distress line for teenagers and their families. It is staffed by trained volunteers who are there to listen, offer options and make referrals.

Operates a 24-hour, toll-free, bilingual, telephone counselling service for troubled children and youth. Provides emotional support, counselling, information and referral services.

BLACK YOUTH HELP LINE: WINNIPEG 253-7475

Provides culturally appropriate services to youth, families, schools and agencies that work with youth. Offers a stay-in-school program, child & family support programs, newcomer support and a telephone help line.

YOUTH RESOURCE CENTRE: WINNIPEG 477-1804

The services provided include information, referral, informal counselling, support services and guidance for youth aged 13-21. Also provides short-term shelter for youth aged 13-17 between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.

The centre provides community-based advocacy, counselling and support for Aboriginal families or youth involved with child caring agencies, the criminal justice system or crisis situations. Counselling program available includes services for individuals, families, adolescents and children. Support groups are also available.

Provides child welfare services including counselling, adoption, guardianship, custody, foster care and emergency homemaker services. Services available to band members of Peguis, Fisher River, Jackhead, Dakota-Tipi, Lake St. Martin, Dauphin River, Fairford, Lake Manitoba and Little Saskatchewan who reside in and off reserve.

AWASIS CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES AGENCY OF NORTHERN MANITOBA:
